Patrick Wiita, M.D.

Dr. Patrick Wiita grew up on the West Coast, mostly around Southern California. He went to college at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA), where he studied Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics, before going to medical school at the University of Southern California. Dr. Wiita’s clinical expertise comes from thousands of hours of training at the Los Angeles County General Hospital (yes, that General Hospital). He was selected to remain at USC for six more years of post-graduate training in Adult Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry and many of his colleagues from training are now among his closest friends.

Like many other island transplants, Dr. Wiita vacationed on Hilton Head Island summer after summer with his family and in-laws (from Cincinnati, naturally) before seizing the opportunity to leave the big city and make HHI his home. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Wiita enjoys cycling, photography, taking his dogs to the beach, riding the Salty Dog sunset cruise, and putting off learning how to golf.

Nicole Sinnigen, MS, LPC, NCC

Practice Manager

Ms. Nicole Sinnigen is a devoted mother to two children and two German Shepherd fur babies.  She is no stranger to hard work. She went to college for her undergraduate degree at Bellevue University in Bellevue, NE, where she studied Management while serving in the United States Air Force.  She later attended Bellevue University again for her graduate degree in Clinical Counseling after serving in the United States Army.

She brings her diligence and attention to detail to handling the day-to-day administrative tasks of the practice.  Nicole will also use her clinical expertise as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to provide Dr. Wiita and his patients support during any unanticipated mental health crises.

Also a transplant to South Carolina, after moving around the country her entire life, she enjoys spending her free time with her family, dogs, drawing, painting, and traveling.
